What is the cause of any side effects of mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy has no serious risks unless performed by non- medical or untrained doctors and thus mesotherapy side effects are minimal. Most of the patients having mesotherapy feel their injections only slightly uncomfortable and very less of the patients need a topical anesthetic before these treatments. Some feel slight burning after the injections when its medicines begin to dissolve fats. But, the most common mesotherapy side effects are bruising or swelling on injection area and slight itching for few hours after treatment.

Sometimes skin of the treated area also gets discolored and regains its color on its own after sometime. To minimize these side effects, the patients should follow their doctor’s instructions. Mesotherapy side effects are very short lasting and disappear within few days after the treatment. Sometimes, infections may occur if the area being injected is not so cleaned. The possibility of any allergy to the medicines used in this treatment is removed if the doctor performs a skin test of the patient, a few days before starting the therapy.

The patient has to drink enough water to flush away the fat and cellulite dead cells collecting below skin and blood stream and may continue their regular works soon after they recover from the temporary side effects. They also need to do some exercises and take balanced diet to recover from the side effects in least possible time and maintain the results over longer time.

Sometimes, the mesotherapy patients may have allergic reactions with any of the injected medicines which may prove little to large life-threatening. The trained doctors know how to manage these reactions and so the patients should always go to well trained doctors for having mesotherapy treatments to minimize and recover from mesotherapy side effects.

The mesotherapy treatments are not safe for cellulite removal and cause side effects due to the use of chemicals like dimethylethanolamine and phosphatidylcholine in injections. It eliminates cellulite by breaking down fats which may prove very dangerous if it reached to other parts of body like heart or liver thus causing the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. Thus, mesotherapy treatments are most risky for cellulite reduction.
